What is research@WEIDEN BUSINESS SCHOOL?

The Faculty of Business Administration has been known as WEIDEN BUSINESS SCHOOL since the beginning of the winter semester 20/21. Internationalization, digitalization and diversification - these are just some of the reasons why OTH Amberg-Weiden has launched the WEIDEN BUSINESS SCHOOL. In particular, the progressive internationalization and the taking up of digital future topics as well as current research results will thus become more visible to the outside world.

The hybrid lecture series has established itself with one event per month and is always continued on the last Tuesday of the month. Attendance is open to all interested parties. So feel free to participate in person on campus or via the link provided under Participation in the event. We look forward to welcoming you.

Program from 30th January, 2024

Andrea C. Mende (M.A.) did her master's thesis on applied organizational psychology, which focused on "New Work: The Psychological Empowerment of Employees—the Influence of Stress and the Relationship with the Superior." She will discuss the findings from her thesis. The lecture will be held in English.

Through in-depth research, Andrea C. Mende (M.A.), examines how stress levels and the quality of the employee-supervisor relationship (LMX) influence employees' psychological empowerment. Using a mixed-methods approach, including an online questionnaire and expert interviews, Mende analyzes the complex relationships between stress, LMX quality, and psychological empowerment among 315 employees. The results highlight a significant negative relationship between stress and empowerment and a positive relationship between LMX quality and empowerment, with the dimension of influence emerging as a key predictor.

Andrea C. Mende (M.A.) emphasizes the importance of proactive interventions to reduce stress and improve LMX quality and advocates structural frameworks such as supportive organizational cultures and training programs to promote the psychological empowerment of employees.
